I sometimes think of myself as part of the first generation
of Post-Buddhists. By “Post-Buddhists” I mean people who have been profoundly
influenced by the methods and discoveries of the historical Buddha but who attempt
to maintain a thoroughly modern, skeptical, evidence-based, and critically-minded
perspective on things. Organizations such as Buddhist Geeks and Secular
Buddhist provide a platform for people sympathetic to that perspective.
Here’s a link to a recent discussion hosted by The Secular Buddhist that took place between
me, Vince Horn (Buddhist Geeks), and Ted Meissner & Mark Knickelbine (Secular Buddhist). The topic centered around creating virtual
communities to support practice. Enjoy!
Great!
